Good news to all!

We have finally finished decorating our booth!

We have also finished doing the final programming of our robot! We are all ready and prepared 4 the real thing . . . I think so!

We just have to memorise our lines - which are a lot and practice together and clear up some confusion among US!

Please cheer us on! We appreciate whatever help and cheering we get and remember to vote for us!

We would like to thank our helpful mentors for the help and encouragement.

Daniel: He has helped us a great deal. He help us assemble and program the robot. He also help us with the decorations of our booth by making origamis (The origamis he made were not used. We kept them for they were really pretty!) for us! It was also great of him to put up with our nonsense. They also make jokes to lighten us from our stress. We would like to thank him for that!!!

Linh: He helped us in many areas like the assembling of the robot and programming. He gave us many ideas from which we improvise it to make it better. It was also great of him to put up with all our nonsensical talk and disgusting jokes! Whenever we feel stress up, he make jokes to lighten our stress! We would like to thank him for everything he has done for us!!!

We hope our mentors will win the $500 BEST Denki Voucher!!!

We just finished programming the robot!!!! (Robogirl)

Right now, we are doing the final editing.

Decorations For Our Booth

We have DRAWN plans of our decorations for our booth. Now, we are finalising our plans and getting the materials we need.

Our Project

We are still in the process of editing our storyline, programme and song.

Finalising our programme for the deadline of submission on the 20th of August 2008.

We have edited a little of our STORYLINE and the RAP. For the RAP, we have decided to make it HALF RAP AND HALF SONG! Special, right?

Latest Update

On our recent update, we briefly told you about our ROBOT and STORYLINE PLUS RAP. On this post, we update you briefly on how we would DECORATE our booth.

Decorations

We plan to get:
- a coloured board
- coloured cards
- a merlion figurine
- crepe paper
- super glue
- double-sided tape
- coloured paper (to make boats and cranes)
- nylon strings (to tie cranes to make them hang in the air)
- lego (maybe)
- glitter glue (for further decorations)


That is what we will be buying. We plan to make a scene of the SINGAPORE RIVER with the SIngapore National Educational (NE) Messages for visitor that see our booth to see our work and at the same time know the NE Messages.

A BRIEF INTRODUCTION

We will start with a brief introduction!

Brief Introduction On Our Robot

Our robot name is called ROBOGIRL . . . We came up with this name for the robot by combining ROBOT and GIRL together! Just like SINGABOT, SINGAPORE and ROBOT joined together!

Our robot takes the form of a human. It can walk and do push-ups! (It does 200 per hour! - Juz kiddin' If it can do 200 in and hour, it would explode!) We are still in the midst of programming her, trying to adjust the timing of the robot and add more interesting and fun action for the spectators and audience (if there are any) to enjoy!



Brief Introduction On Our Presentation

Our presentation has a STORYLINE and a RAP. We have programmed the robot to act out the STORY. We are now in the midst of planning what should the robot do during the RAP. Right now we have decided to let the robot rap along with us by doing RAPPING GESTURES! (Yo! Yo! Yo! Yo! Yo!)

Kai Qing: As I am from robotics, I hope that I will help my friends in the areas that they need help such as programming the robot and many others. However, this competition is a whole new experience to me and I am still very nervous! Also, being the leader of the team I must make sure that the team don't go astray... I really hope I've done a good job as a leader. Right now, i just hope that more people will support us and vote for us since voting is 10% of the total score! I really want to win this competiton because I will be very proud of it!

Kah Mun: I really not sure about anything bcoz I was on a holiday during the training at Singapore Discovery Centre (SDC). I hope to be able to catch up with the rest and get as many of my family members to vote. I really hope we win this competition. I just wish that more people will vote for us! I hope that we will win and the best voter who voted the most for us will get a chance to win an IPOD SHUFFLE!

Alanna: I am not really tensed up at the moment. I am trying my best to make everything as perfect as possible. I will also try to do our school proud by winning something and I am just hoping that more people will vote for us! Every vote counts!

Charis: Well, I feel pretty nervous. (I'm always nervous about competitions!) Anyway, 10% is based on voting. Getting people to vote is not easy. Right now, we are pretty tensed up about the number of votes. Our competitors can easily overtake us! We will try our best to win something for our school, to do our school proud! I hope all the people who visit this website will be game enough to vote for us!

Kai Qing: Hi! I guess you know about my Cristiano Ronaldo frenzy with Charis! And I guess you know that I like Fernando Torres too! (Though Charis don't really know more..). I have plenty of their photos and I know plenty about them! I love red bcoz Cristiano Ronaldo Manchester united T-shirt is Red and Fernando Torres's Spain soccer jersey is red too! (Charis likes that colour though she likes blue more! I donno why, though...) Plus, I love the number 7 and 17 and 9 bcoz like usual it has got to be something about Ronaldo and Fernando. It is their T-shirt number!!! Soooo...cool! I just recently found a book about them! I can't help staring at them! They are so cool! One more thing, I love SOCCER! If you talk about sports to me, I will think twice about answering 'like it'! If fact I don't really like it! except if it is soccer, okay, not really. I only like to WATCH Cristiano Ronaldo and Fernando Torres play soccer!



Kah Mun: Well, I don't know what to say actually...(not like Kai Qing and Charis... They BLAH alot! No offence though!) Though I do watch soccer like the both of them but, my parents just shuts of the TV and says, "Go do your assesments!!!!"... ARGH! I'm so fed up... no choice though, they ARE my parents! Anyway, I like soccer(not love), watch soccer, but, I'm not as crazy about soccer as Kai Qing and Charis... HAHA! OH YEAH! I also love sports! During my school's sport's day, I ran for my team too!! However, our team still lost (We still got third! Charis' team was worse!)!!! SO SAD!!!! (I'm not CRYING!!!) Anyway, that's about it... I donno why, but when I speak, I speak like a bullet train, but, when I type, I don't really say alot.... I really BLAH very little... Well, nevermind! I don't care anyway! So, BB (BYE BYE!) !!!



Alanna: Hmm.. pep talk time! Let's see.. What should I 'BLAH' about... OH YEAH! Like Kah Mun, I LOVE sports too! (We have the same interests 'coz we are best frens for ... 1 year and best frens with Kai Qing and Charis for ... 2 years!) Anyway, let me start my little (not very little) quote on SPORTS! TA-DA! I joined the cheerleading team in p4 'coz of the school's sport's day for my team (Go, Sapphire!). Then, I joined the running team for my team when I was in p5. Since then, I'm so into SPORTS!(Actually, frm last year...) Sports ROX! WOO-HOO! Anyways, I like music too (Luv 'em!)... I like a lot of bands and singers... So, I can't list out all of them 'coz, it'll be a very, very, very, very long list! Hurmm.. I dun think there's anymre abt me.. So, guess I'll cya! (The previous posts aren't typed out by me.. Charis: It is not that I copy my friendzz... so dun get the wrong idea!! Me and Kai Qing are big fans of Cristiano Ronaldo and Fenando Torres! THEY ARE SO PRO IN SOCCER! Don't you dare think it is funny! It offends me and Kai Qing(Juz Kiddin')! I luv SKY BLUE and RED (bcoz Cristiano's and Fenando's soccer jersey are RED!), but I like SKY BLUE better! I like the numbers 7,9 and 17 bcoz as usual it has something to do with Cristiano Ronaldo and Fernando Torres! Sooooooooo . . . cool! I guess me and Kai Qing talk too much about him till almost everyone around us is sick of it! HA-HA! We can't help it! We are number ONE soccer fans, or should I say . . . . . . WE LOVE SOCCER!!! Second thing, I LOVE sports too! I love volleyball, basketball, soccer, badminton, hockey, floorball, sepak takraw, running, . . . and many more (all hte type of sports!)! I got into the school running team for P4 and P5. P4 my baton team got 1st bcoz EMERALD (One of the school houses. We have amethyst - Kah Mun is in, emerald, ruby,sapphire - Me, Kai Qing and Alanna are in and topaz.) got dis qualified! P5 we were such a shame! We got last position bcoz of the last runner - from second to last! Anyway, I LOVE SPORTS . . . . . . the same ranking as I LOVE SOCCER!!!
